Civil Service Live 2023

a:gender will be attending Civil Service Live in several locations in June and July 2023. CS Live events are attended by a wide range of Civil Servants and are a great opportunity to network and find out more about the work going on across Government.

We will be attending in the following locations:

  • Newcastle - 7 June

  • Glasgow - 15 June

  • Manchester - 15 July

  • Cardiff - 13 July

  • London - 19 July

You can find out more and register to attend on the CS Live website.

a:gender events and panel discussions – available on request

a:gender are available to speak at panels and events to provide the perspectives and experiences of our members.

Topics we might typically cover are:

  • Understanding what the terms ‘trans’, ‘intersex’ and ‘nonbinary’ mean,

  • How to use appropriate terminology and language,

  • Recognising the issues that trans and intersex colleagues might face in the workplace and wider society, and

  • Exploring how to support trans and intersex colleagues in the workplace.

These can be provided to any group in any department or public body in the Civil Service.

Civil servants of all grades and roles may benefit from one or more of these sessions, but we suggest that the following staff may find them particularly helpful:

  • line managers,

  • senior leaders,

  • HR, security, communications and IT personnel,

  • Diversity & Inclusion champions,

  • bullying and harassment advisors, and

  • LGBTI+ network leads.

You can request an awareness session by contacting agender@homeoffice.gov.uk and giving some details of the department, intended audience, and what you hope to gain from the sessions and we will get in touch.
